We enjoyed a delicious breakfast at Baires (I believe it's short for Buenos Aires). The coffee was very good. Marion is filled with the friendliest people. At Baires we were greeted by owner Marcela, who checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed. This is a must of you're in the area.
The food was very good and the service was friendly and attentive. The only suggestion I would have would be to add full descriptions to the menu. The current menu has just the name of the dish with no description. The menu on Yelp has a description, but does not include things such as mayonnaise on the muffin sandwich. The person in my group that ordered the sandwich doesn't like mayonnaise, so she didn't enjoy the sandwich as much. We enjoyed our visit and the pleasant, relaxed atmosphere.

Had a meeting in Marion and got to town early, texted a friend "where is the best local place for breakfast?" He responded "Baires downtown." I'm glad he did. The customer service was great from the owner on the grill conversing with everyone in the restaurant to the friendly and warm waitress that kept the coffee full and the conversation light. The food was solid breakfast fare. I wouldn't drive to Marion to get it, but if in Marion I'd do what the locals do and head to Baires for breakfast.

I had the NY strip with red potatoes and vegetables. My wife half months chicken. Both meals delicious. You will be very happy here.
The spicy meat empanadas are great, as are the cut veggies. Had an Italian sandwich that was good. The owner was very friendly. Glad we stopped by during our travels! We would definitely stop back if we are ever in Marion again!
Working in Marion and going out for lunch can be difficult to support locally owned restaurants. Marion has a lot of chain restaurants, but Baires isn't one of them. Our group at work go out for birthday lunches and it was my turn to pick, I picked Baires since we hadn't tried them and they also won an award at Taste of Marion in which I was a judge. Our group of seven was greeted and asked to stay at the front for a few minutes while they set up the table. We were then shown back to the table and served waters while our server came over and let us know of the specials. I had my eye on the turkey club with house made chips, the club was very good, however the chips were unevenly cooked leaving some under done on the sides, also they didn't get drained of the oil enough as there was a little pool of oil. Just a quick sitting on a paper towel would of done wonders. Everyone in our group really liked what they ordered and we agreed to come back to Baires for lunch soon.
